Design Concept<\/div><\/td><\/tr>

We initially aimed to design a logo that incorporates the four major categories of Earth sciences: ocean, atmosphere, land, and geophysics. Eventually, the concept evolved into a simplified form, with wave-like curves at the base symbolizing waves, winds, and mountains on Earth. The upward curve on the left embraces the Earth, representing our hope that those who study Earth sciences will learn to cherish and protect the planet through scientific understanding.<\/p>

The overall design combines imagery and typography to form a globe-like shape, symbolizing Earth sciences in a generalized manner. The text \u201cNational Taiwan Normal University\u201d encircles the design like latitude markings, suggesting a symbolic \u201clatitude\u201d in the representation.<\/p>

In the color version, the waves are rendered in blue to reflect the dominant color of our planet, while the abbreviation \u201cES\u201d (Earth Sciences) in the center is colored in earthy yellow to represent the land.<\/p>

As a side note, if you look from afar and remove the text, the logo somewhat resembles a running cartoon figure \u2014 the globe as the head, waves as outstretched arms, and the base as legs in motion \u2014 which, though unintentional, adds a touch of liveliness and energy to the design.<\/p><\/td><\/tr>
