The scholarship shall be awarded once per academic year. Each awardee shall receive NT$10,000 for two consecutive semesters, totaling NT$20,000 of scholarship per student.<\/p><p>Article II. The quota of the scholarship shall be divided into five groups, namely atmospheric sciences, astronomy, oceanography, geology, and geophysics. Each group may nominate one student to apply.<\/p><p>Article III. Scholarship Qualification: New students who are enrolled in that academic year (including those who enrolled early), excluding those who deferred their enrollment while retaining their student status.<\/p><p>Article IV. Faculty members of each group are free to select their scholarship awardees (one student) on their own from the new master\u2019s students of their group, under the condition that the awardees\u2019 admission must be based on entrance exams or recommendation admission.<\/p><p>Article V. To strengthen the foundation of scientific research talent, cultivate talent for core<br \/>strategic industries, and reward top-tier doctoral students with high research<br \/>potential, these Operational Guidelines are hereby established in accordance with<br \/>the University&#8217;s Implementation Guidelines for the &#8216;National Science and<br \/>Technology Council Doctoral Fellowship Pilot Program.&#8217;<br \/>2. Eligibility Criteria:<br \/>(1) Currently enrolled doctoral students of the Department. Students who have<br \/>previously received this fellowship are ineligible to reapply.<br \/>(2) Students admitted under the status of students from Mainland China, Hong Kong,<br \/>and Macau are excluded.<br \/>3. Fellowship Duration and Amount:<br \/>Each doctoral student will receive a monthly fellowship of NT$40,000 for a maximum<br \/>of three years. For those who graduate within three years, the fellowship will<br \/>terminate at the end of their graduation month. Vacancies in the quota allocated<br \/>by the NSTC will be filled sequentially from the backup list submitted by the<br \/>Department. The fellowship amount shall be fully funded by the NSTC.<br \/>4. Fellowship Quota and Application Timeline:<br \/>(1) The fellowship quota is based on the allocation designated to the Department by<br \/>the University&#8217;s Admissions Committee.<br \/>(2) Eligible doctoral students must complete the application form within the period<br \/>announced by the Department and submit it along with academic transcripts,<br \/>master&#8217;s thesis, published academic journal papers, monographs, creative works,<br \/>patents, research outcomes, proof of awards from international competitions, or<br \/>other favorable supporting materials. The Department&#8217;s Nomination Committee<br \/>will review the applications to select and recommend candidates for the primary<br \/>and backup lists.<br \/>5. Periodic Evaluation and Outcome Tracking Mechanism:<br \/>(1) One month before the end of each academic year, recipients must submit a<br \/>comprehensive report to the Department regarding their academic transcripts,<br \/>research outcomes, creative outputs, and participation in international activities<br \/>for that academic year to apply for continued recommendation. Following<br \/>evaluation and approval by the Department&#8217;s Nomination Committee, the list of<br \/>approved students will be forwarded to the Office of Academic Affairs to apply<br \/>for the fellowship renewal for the next academic year.<br \/>(2) One month before the end of the third (final) year, recipients must submit a<br \/>comprehensive report to the Department detailing their academic transcripts,<br \/>research outcomes, creative outputs, and participation in international activities<br \/>for that academic year to close their fellowship case.<br \/>(3) The Department shall periodically track (via telephone interviews, questionnaires,<br \/>or other methods) the academic research performance or industrial employment<br \/>contributions and career paths of the recipients within three years post-graduation.<br \/>This data must be submitted to the Office of Academic Affairs for reference<br \/>before the end of July each year, and recipients are required to cooperate by<br \/>providing the necessary information.<br \/>6. The fellowship will be revoked, and payments terminated starting from the month<br \/>following the occurrence of any of the following circumstances during the award<br \/>period. The termination is permanent, and the resulting vacancy will be filled<br \/>sequentially from the backup list submitted by the Department:<br \/>(1) Engaging in full-time, paid employment at a public or private institution, or<br \/>enrolling as an in-service student.<br \/>(2) Applying for a leave of absence, deferring admission, or failing to complete<br \/>registration after admission.<br \/>(3) Direct-admission doctoral students transferring back (or into) a master&#8217;s program.<br \/>(4) Receiving other fellowships or scholarships funded by government sectors.<br \/>(5) Failing to obtain a continued recommendation from the Department.<br \/>7. If any information or documents submitted by a recipient involve forgery, plagiarism,<br \/>alteration, or any other falsehood, their award status shall be revoked. Any<br \/>fellowship funds already received must be returned, and relevant legal<br \/>responsibilities will be pursued depending on the severity of the violation.<br \/>8. Matters not covered in these Guidelines shall be handled in accordance with the<br \/>relevant regulations of the National Science and Technology Council and the<br \/>University.<br \/>9. These Guidelines shall be implemented upon approval by the Department General<br \/>Meeting and submitted to the Office of Academic Affairs for reference. The current Enforcement Rules (hereinafter referred to as the Rules) is based on the \u201cNational Taiwan Normal University Five Ways of Life Scholarship Regulations\u201d.<br \/>II. Qualification: Current undergraduate students of the Department of Earth Sciences<br \/>III. Awards:<br \/>1. The Ethics Education Award: For those who demonstrate efforts to cultivate character education, clarify moral values, and promote a collegial atmosphere; those who are enthusiastic to serve and care about the wellbeing of the society.<br \/>2. The Intellect Education Award: For those who demonstrate acquisition of professional knowledge, or outstanding performance in academic or technical competitions.<br \/>3. The Athletics Education Award: For those who demonstrate a healthy physique, dedication to fitness, dedication to the promotion of mental and physical wellbeing, and integration of athleticism in their life, or outstanding performance in sports competitions.<br \/>4. The Group Education Award: For those who practice group cooperation, promote social relations, and realize the strength of collective wisdom and efforts; for those who demonstrate leadership, the spirit of mutual assistance, and fraternity among their peers.<br \/>5. The Aesthetics Education Award: For those who have enhanced the awareness of aesthetics and the understanding of the arts; for those who have demonstrated talents in humanities, arts, or music. Or those who excelled in artistic or musical competitions.<br \/>IV. Number of Awards and Nomination: The scholarship shall be awarded once per semester. Awardees shall be selected in accordance with the following guidelines:<br \/>1. Each class may nominate one candidate for each award (i.e., the awards for ethics, intellect, athletics, group, and aesthetics). If the size of the class is more than 50 persons, the class may nominate an additional candidate for each award. Each student may receive more than one award as long as they are not the same award. 2. All those who have met the descriptions of the awards and can demonstrate by specific deed in the previous semester may submit their application to the department office within the announced application period of the semester. The chair of the department will form a Nomination Committee with academic advisers and the student adviser (with one non-candidate student from each grade attending as non-voting member) from all grade levels. Upon approval by the committee, the recommendation form and list of student names shall be submitted to the Division of Student Services of the Office of Student Affairs for scholarship processing. Each<br \/>award winning student shall receive a certificate and a scholarship of NT$2,500.<br \/>3. In cases where there are no nominations for one or some of the awards in a class, the nomination quota may be used for other awards.<br \/>V. Funding: The scholarship shall be funded by the university under the item of Student Funds and Incentives.<br \/>VI. The scholarship shall be recorded in the student\u2019s e-portfolio.<br \/>VII. Students who have received all five awards shall be awarded the \u201cCertificate of Cheng Zheng Qin Pu\u201d in a public ceremony.<br \/>VIII. The current rules shall be implemented upon passage at a Departmental Affairs Meeting. Qualification: Graduate students (master\u2019s and doctoral) of the department<br \/>II. Travel subsidies for international conferences are limited to one subsidy per degree per person.<br \/>III. Subsidy Standard: The maximum subsidy for East Asia (excluding Taiwan) is NT$15,000; maximum subsidy for all other regions is NT$30,000. Expenses shall be reimbursed in accordance with the approved amount.<br \/>IV. Condition of the Subsidy: The applicant must be the first author (oral presentation or poster) of the monograph published.<br \/>V. Subsidy Guidelines:<br \/>(1) Priority will be given to doctoral students, senior level students, those giving oral presentations, and those with no other sources of financial support.<br \/>(2) Those who are supported by other agencies may be supplemented by per diem. The maximum amount of subsidy shall be 50% of the amount listed in the \u201cPer Diem for Personnel sent by Various Central Government Agencies on International Business Trips\u201d published by the Executive Yuan.<br \/>(3) The total subsidy the applicant received from all agencies must meet the standards stated in the Executive Yuan \u201cInternational Travel Expenses Reimbursement Guidelines\u201d, and must not exceed the actual total expenses incurred.<br \/>(4) Those who received no subsidies from other agencies must provide application documents for other agencies and evidence of denial of support. The maximum amount of the subsidy shall be in accordance with the amount stipulated in Article III.<br \/>(5) Upon conclusion of the conference, please prepare the following documents for reimbursement: conference program, evidence of conference registration, documentation for lodging, detailed living expenses, airfare, and ticket stubs.<br \/>VI. Application Deadline:<br \/>(1) Application may be submitted at any time. Applicants must submit all conference related documentations and apply at least 3 weeks before the conference.<br \/>(2) If necessary, the number of subsidies may be adjusted based on departmental funding.<br \/>VII.
